Water Bridge

In Austria some scientists found out how to make water to form a "bridge" between two glasses. Each glass was charged with a negative or positive current, and the water rose to join in the middle.

The "bridge" can be up to 2,5 cm long and last for 45 minutes. Scientists believe that the electric current generates electrostatic forces on the water surface and this leads to a bridge. The following video briefly shows it:
